George Schneyer, II Obituary

Mr. George W. Schneyer, II, 79, of Lee, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at BayState Medical Center.
George was born in Goldsboro, NC, where his father was stationed with the Army Air Force, on May 4, 1944, the son of George and Doris Huot Schneyer. He was raised in Glendale and was a 1963 graduate of the former Williams High School in Stockbridge. After high school George enlisted with US Army serving in the Army Engineers while being stationed in France and Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1967. 
Mr. Schneyer was employed by a number of local companies throughout his life including the Stockbridge Highway Department, Beacco and Sons Construction, Stockbridge Fuel and Grain Co., Bombardier East and the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority from which he retired from in 2001 after 35 years in the Maintenance Department.
George loved to fish and go to the races at Lebanon Valley Speedway. He was an avid Nascar fan. George enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and the numerous cruises he spent with his wife. George was a member of the Berkshire County Forest Wardens as well as a proud, third generation member of the Stockbridge/Glendale Fire Department.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, the former Phyllis Losaw; and his two brothers: Donald and his wife, Rosemary, of Stockbridge; and John and his wife, Laurin, of Lenox Dale.
Funeral Services for Mr. George W. Schneyer, II will be held on Monday, February 26, 10:30AM at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee. Burial will follow in the Stockbridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2-4PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing, may make a donation in his memory to either the Stockbridge Fire Department or the Berkshire County Forest Wardens in care of Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
